KD Sherrinford is an award-winning British author best known for her Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler Mysteries series. Born and raised in Preston, Lancashire, she now lives on the Fylde Coast in the United Kingdom.
A lifelong lover of mystery fiction, KD was inspired by the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. Her fascination with Irene Adler led her to reimagine the iconic character in a bold and compelling way.
Her writing journey began in 2019 after a visit to the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London. Since then, she has published multiple award-winning books, beginning with Song for Someone, which earned critical acclaim and several international recognitions.
She continues to write stories that blend suspense, history, and emotional depth, captivating readers around the world.

Career Life:
KD Sherrinford has built a strong reputation in historical mystery fiction through her critically acclaimed works. Her debut novel, Song for Someone (2022), gained immediate recognition, earning The Editor's Gold Seal and praise from reviewers. It was described as "an evocative masterpiece" by Dee Marley of The Historical Fiction Company. The novel went on to become a Finalist at the 2023 Chanticleer International Book Awards, received a Crimson Quill nomination, was a Top Award Pick by Author Shout, and won an International Impact Award.
She followed with Christmas at The Saporis (2022), the second book in her Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler Mysteries series. The novella won First Place and Best in Category (SEA Shorts & Novellas) at the Chanticleer International Book Awards and is currently being considered for a screenplay adaptation.
In 2023, Meet Me in Milan continued the series and reached the Semi-Finals of the CIBA Awards in 2024. Her fourth book, The Whistle of Revenge (2025), inspired by The Hound of the Baskervilles, received multiple recognitions, including Finalist at the Readers' Favorite International Literary Competition, Semi-Finalist at the CIBA Clue Awards, a Crimson Quill nomination, a Gold Award from Literary Titan, and an Eric Hoffer nomination.
The series itself has been shortlisted for Best Series at the Chanticleer International Book Awards.
Beyond her novels, KD has contributed to anthologies by Marla Bradeen and Annalee Adams. Her short story A Bit of a Do is being developed into a novella.
She is a member of the Crime Writers' Association (CWA) and the Lancashire Writers' Association (LWA), and is connected with The Harris Library in Preston. Her work has also been reviewed by Peter E. Blau for the Red Circle of Washington.
KD is currently working on the fifth book in the series, The Changing Man.
Behind the Writing:
KD's love for storytelling began with her passion for classic detective fiction. She remains actively involved in the literary community and is a member of the Crime Writers' Association and the Lancashire Writers' Association.
She also contributes to anthologies and continues to expand her storytelling into new formats.
